We did it! Just a couple hours of work brought us no more leaking inside our home. J got up on the roof and re-caulked around the vents after the old, useless caulking had been stripped.
We weren't sure if just the single treatment would do the job, so nature answered our question for us. Thanks nature! The skies opened up and POURED for about 24 hours, and there was not a single drip on us.
Of course, once it was nice and rainy and cold, we ran out of propane and couldn't get the tanks off to refill them. We used CLR and WD40 and tried wiggling around with a wrench, but nada. Yeesh. Today, our property manager happened to come by and see J struggling to get the tank valves detached. Apparently sometimes the older tanks are left-threaded! So, once all that rust was off, good ol' Doug "tightened" the valves right off. Now we'll just fill 'em up and have ourselves a home cooked meal again!
We have yet to get the original refrigerator working. It was heating up instead of cooling down! It's cooler now, but not yet functional as a fridge. Hoping there's just a coolant blockage and that a little shake will loosen it, so fingers crossed everybody! If we can't get it working we'll have to replace it, which costs a small fortune. You'll definitely hear, either way.
